It is reported that Mahindra is working on the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio. Accordingly, the top-of-the-line S9 and S11 trims now come with Android Auto and Apple Carplay support.

Interestingly, this important update does not come at an extra price. In other words, the addition of Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility has been made as a regular product update and the prices of the Mahindra Scorpio remains the same. In today’s market, connectivity techs are becoming increasingly popular. Having Android Auto and Apple Carplay support can be considered the standard for modern cars nowadays. By adding this connectivity system, Mahindra expects to keep the Scorpio at par with the competitors.
Android Auto and Apple Carplay allow the driver to connect their devices via the infotainment display. The drivers can access their smartphone using voice control or the steering-mounted controls without involving their hands. This way, the driver will be less distracted from driving. However, the new Android Auto and Apple Carplay system on the Mahindra Scorpio is not wireless. Instead, it requires using a cable to connect the phone to the infotainment display.

Earlier this year, BSVI-compliant Mahindra Scorpio launched at the starting price of Rs 11.98 lakh. The SUV is currently available in four variants, including S5, S7, S9, and S11. The BSIV Scorpio is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which is capable of making a top power of 140 Bhp and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is offered from the S7 upwards while the standard 5-speed manual transmission will be available on the base S5. After the BSVI updates, Mahindra Scorpio is no longer available with the 4-wheel-drive system.
