Toyota has confirmed to launch the Toyota Fortuner facelift and the Fortuner Legender on January 6 next year. Read to get more details.

The first month of 2021 will mark a few new car launches in the Indian car market. With Toyota alone, there will be two new vehicles to arrive within this month. These upcoming models include the facelift Toyota Fortuner and the all-new Toyota Fortuner Legender.

Toyota Fortuner is currently the most important product of the Japanese carmaker in our market. The full-size SUV, thanks to its extraordinary reliability, strong quality build and good resale value, has attracted a huge fan base and maintained a stable sales throughout the years. Toyota Fortuner is currently rivalling against the like of Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and MG Gloster.

Prior to the Indian launch, Toyota has launched the facelifted Fortuner in some select Southeast Asian markets. Afterwards, the new facelift model was spotted on our roads for a couple of times during its testing phase. While it was quite certain that the facelift Fortuner will arrive soon, it was not sure if Toyota Fortuner Legender would arrive our market until recently. Toyota now confirms that both of these models, Toyota Fortuner facelift and Fortuner Legender, will hit the Indian market on January 6.

Along with the Toyota Fortuner facelift, Toyota will also launch the Fortuner Legender in our market

In the global market, Toyota Legender is offered as a more premium version of the Fortuner. To distinguish itself from the standard version, Toyota Legender adorns a host of styling enhancements and extra goodies. The Fortuner facelift receives various updates on the front, to create a fresh new look. The Legender model will even take this new look a level ahead with additional details like sharper grille design, LED projector headlights, L-shaped LED DRLs, blacked-out lower radiator grille, revised front bumper, piano back elements, 20-inch alloy wheels, and black pillars, rear spoiler, vertical blades on the rear bumper and more.

2021 Toyota Fortuner Facelift and Legender To Launch On January 6

This model comes in three colour scheme options, including White Pearl CS-black roof, Emotional Red-black roof, and Attitude Black Mica. Similar to the exterior, the interior will also come with a host of new features and design updates. The interior of the Legender is likely to receive nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto support, 9-speaker JBL audio system, wireless charger, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, control-mounted steering wheel. It remains to be seen if the Toyota Safety Sense suite will be introduced on the upcoming India-spec Toyota.

Under the hood, the powertrain setting will be the same 2.8-litre diesel unit which puts out 204 PS and 500 Nm. Expect some minor mechanical updates on this power setting. About the pricing, Toyota Legender will command a premium over the standard facelifted Fortuner.
