The CNG equipped Toyota Innova Crysta has been recently spotted while getting tested in India. The launch date of the CNG equipped Innova Crysta is still unknown.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the best-selling MPVs in the Indian market. Over the decade, the MPV has maintained a strong demand in the country. Toyota Innova Crysta offers an ample amount of legroom & headroom and has a very upmarket cabin. In an interview last year, the officials of Toyota Kirloskar Motor revealed that they are working in collaboration with MSIL to develop CNG kits. CNG has its own set of drawbacks, but it is very easy on the pocket. CNG vehicles are mainly preferred by the people who use their cars for city commuting or commercial purposes. Recently, Toyota Innova Crysta CNG has been spotted while getting tested on the roads of Bidadi, near Bangalore.

The CNG kit will come paired with the 2.7-litre petrol motor

On the rear windshield, one can easily spot the CNG sticker. The test car is unhidden but was equipped with a Red-coloured temporary number plate. This means that the automaker has plans to introduce the CNG equipped Innova Crysta in our market. The new CNG kit will come coupled with Cryta’s 2.7-litre gasoline motor. The engine puts out 166bhp of peak power and 245 Nm of twisting force, but the CNG trim will produce low power and torque outputs. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed MT as standard. One the other hand, one can also get an option of a 2.4-litre oil burner.

After looking at the size of the MPV, the car is expected to get the kit with a capacity of 12-13 kgs. If the CNG kit manages to offer a mileage of 20 km/kg, one can expect it to offer a total range of 250 km. The smaller models like WagonR and Celerio, the capacity and range both are considerably less. Right now, the petrol trims of the car Innova Crysta CNG ranges between Rs 15.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 22.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The CNG kit will most likely to be offered with the base and mid-spec trims. The launch date of the CNG equipped Innova Crysta is still undercover.
