The new Toyota Innova Crysta facelift will be launched in India by the first week of December. The unofficial bookings have commenced ahead of the launch.

Recently, serveral reports surfaced web that Toyota Kirloskar Motor is preparing a surprise for us this festive season. Basically, the Toyota Innova Crysta facelift was reported to be arriving this month. It was also being claimed that several dealerships have started accepting pre-bookings for the new model. Surprised by this development, we decided to get in touch with our dealer-level sources. After multiple confirmations, it has emerged that the new model won't launch this month and, perhaps, not even next month.

It's definitely not like the refreshed MPV isn't India-bound but what's for sure is that it won't be launching anytime this year. A reason for the delay in bringing the updated Crysta to our shores could be the strike at the company's Karnataka-based facility. A spokesperson for TKM that we contacted refused to comment on the above. It must be noted that earlier this year, Toyota introduced the updated engines for its MPV, complying with the stringent BS6 emission standards. All this means the upcoming Toyota Innova Crysta facelift won’t see any change on the mechanical front but it would have a host of cosmetic updates, in line with the international-spec model.

Most of the revisions come to the front face of the car which features a slightly redesigned all-black grille with thick chrome inserts. The headlamps are updated with chrome extensions that properly merge into the grille. The front bumper gets a sportier look that is further enhanced by the blackened-out chin and faux skid plate. The fog lamp housings also get black surrounds and have a new design. The new diamond-cut 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are the only changes to the side of the new Innova Crysta. The revamped rear bumper tops up the exterior of the new MPV.

On the inside, the Toyota Innova Crysta facelift will carry a similar dashboard layout as the current model. However, it will feature a new instrument cluster in most of its variants. There will be a new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto Apple CarPlay connectivity, an in-built air purifier on the higher-spec variants. As before, the 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift will be available in an all-black interior theme and come with either six or seven-seat configurations. The features list remains the same as in the pre-facelift model.
