The Toyota Innova Crysta facelift is expected to hit the Indian market in late this year or early 2021.

First launched in India back in 2016, the current Toyota Innova Crysta has been a resounding success for the brand in the country’s premium MPV segment. Despite having no immediate rivals in India, the Toyota Innova Crysta started to show its age now. The Japanese carmaker is working to give the Innova Crysta the first major facelift ever since its launch in 2016 to keep the styling of the MPV fresh and appealing.

A few days after the first set of images of the Innova facelift were leaked online that creates quite a buzz, the top-of-the-line Toyota Innova Touring Sport variant has been spotted for the first time as well. The facelifted MPV gets a host of styling changes on the outside such as chrome treatment on the ORVMs, gloss-black triangular housing for the fog lamps, newly-designed alloy wheels. Apart from that, the Innova Crysta Touring Sport also features some revisions at the lower section of the bumper, removed chrome for under door side sills along with thicker chrome treatment for the front grille.

There’s no pic showing the interior of the facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta Touring Sport but we expect it to carry forward the same theme and layout from the outgoing car. Given the fact that the ongoing interior layout of the Innova is much loved, that’s quite easy to understand. However, we expect an extended list of features to make to the new Toyota Innova, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay supports, enhanced seats, wireless charging system, electrically-adjustable front seats and more, by the ways to make it a more comfortable drive.

As far as the engines are concerned, the updated Toyota Innova is likely to get the same engine options from the current model. Currently, the Toyota Innova Crysta is available with a 2.7-litre petrol engine that belts out 166 BHP/ 245 Nm along with a smaller 2.4-litre diesel motor good for 150 BHP/ 343 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken over by a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT for both these engines. The Toyota Innova is going on sale at the price of around Rs 15.66 – 24.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) so we do anticipate the new Innova to witness a marginal price increase upon launch.
