Upcoming Skoda Karoq Official TVC Released

Skoda Auto India Pvt Ltd has opened the order books for the all-new Karoq, and one can easily book the SUV for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The carmaker has recently released the official TVC video of the new model. It is most likely to launch in the Indian market on 6th May and will be priced between Rs 22-23 lakh (ex-showroom). Like the VW T-ROC, the all-new Skoda SUV will be brought into the domestic market via CBU route. Both the cars will share a lot, including the engine options. 

The all-new SUV will be propelled by a 1.5-litre TSI four-pot petrol mill that produces 150bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties will be done by a 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox. One can expect Skoda to locally manufacture the Karoq if the automaker sees enough demand.

The all-new SUV will sit beneath the Kodiaq in the carmaker’s line-up, and both are underpinned by the same modular platform developed by the VW group. Once launched, the all-new Skoda Karoq will rival with the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and recently launched VW T-ROC. Being a low-volume CBU import, the SUV will only be offered in top-spec fully-loaded variants. The India-spec Skoda Karoq is expected to hit a top speed of 202 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph under nine seconds.

Inside, the all-new Skoda SUV will come loaded with features like a two-tone cabin, electric panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SmartLink compatibility and a fully digital instrument console. The upcoming Skoda Karoq will also offer some convenience and safety features like 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, automatic climate control, virtual cockpit, leather upholstery, ABS with EBD, nine airbags, TPMS, ESC and much more.
