Upcoming Tata Tiago NRG has been spied while getting tested. It’ll derive power from a 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Tata Tiago is one of the most popular entry-level hatchbacks in the Indian market. It rivals with the likes of Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Santro. Tiago is one of those cars which was offered in different versions. Other than the regular model the car, earlier, the hatchback was also offered in JTP and NRG trims. Tata has now planned to introduce the new facelift model of the NRG. It was first introduced in our market back in 2018 and was discontinued a year later. It was the crossover version of the regular Tiago. Now, the carmaker has plans to bring the Tiago NRG back in the Indian market.

One can expect the carmaker to bring it back under a new nameplate. The new Tiago NRG is expected to feature rugged plastic panels outside with NRG badging. From inside, the hatchback will look like the regular model of Tiago. The test mule of the car was spotted wearing camouflage up front and rear. We expect the new Tiago NRG facelift to have the same appearance as the ongoing model of the car. It is expected to derive power from a 1.2-litre gasoline engine. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Once launched, it’ll directly rival with the likes of Maruti Celerio X. Tata introduced the new facelift model of Tiago early this year.
