Volkswagen Ameo GT Line Launched At Rs 9.99 Lakh

Just several days ago, VW India introduced the facelifted Polo and Vento at the starting price of Rs 5.82 Lakh and Rs 8.76 Lakh, respectively. Joining its Polo and Vento siblings, the VW Ameo is also available with the GT Line trim now. The Ameo GT now can be had at the price of Rs 9.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, for the diesel model).

Volkswagen India has recenlty launched the Ameo GT Line trim at the price of Rs 9.99 Lakh (ex-showroom).

On the exterior front, the Ameo GT Line gets a host of styling tweaks. The sedan sports sporty decals on the doors, blacked-out roof, chrome-finished door handles, a GT badge placed on the front fenders, black ORVM caps among others. The body colour options on the Ameo GT Line include New Sunset Red, Candy White, Carbon Steel, Reflex Silver and Lapiz Blue.

The VW Ameo GT Line sports a handful of cosmetic changes, giving the car a sportier look.

The VW Ameo GT Line is developed on the Ameo Highline Plus, which means that it comes with all the bells and whistles as found in the VW Ameo. In terms of safety, the Ameo GT Line shares the entire safety package with the Ameo Highline Plus, including dual-front airbags, ABS, ESP, front disc brakes, electronic engine immobilizer, anti-pinch windows, height-adjustable head restraints, hill-hold control and many more.

The VW Ameo GT Line comes sans mechanical changes and features updates.

Powering the Ameo GT Line is a 1.5-litre TDI engine making 110 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard and delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 27.73 kmpl.

Currently, the VW Ameo fares against some similar models in the sedan segment like the Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze and Tata Tigor. Given the fact that the Ameo GT Line costs the same as the Ameo Highline Plus, it turns out to be a more attractive deal as you can get a sportier car at no extra cost.
