Volkswagen Debuts Tiguan AllSpace At Auto Expo 2020

Volkswagen India has debuted the all-new Tiguan AllSpace SUV at the Auto Expo 2020. It is a longer-wheelbase version of the Tiguan we have on sale in India.

If you look at the front and the rear end, you will not be able to distinguish the AllSpace from regular Tiguan. Nevertheless, the 110 mm longer wheelbase which translates into a 215 mm greater length, which is the biggest difference between the two vehicles. Some of the other key alterations of the AllSpace in comparison with its regular sibling include a new grille, revised headlamps and a restyled front bumper.

With regards to the interior, the AllSpace is equipped with a wide range of features which include an active information display, touchscreen infotainment system, ‘Vienna’ leather seat coverings, triple-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features consist of seven airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, ESP, and a reverse parking camera, etc. The Tiguan AllSpace is also a highly practical SUV, with the flexible cargo space that stands at 230 litres with all the seats up, 760 litres with the third seat row folded down and 1,920 litres with the second and the third seat rows folded down.

As for the powertrains, the Tiguan AllSpace will see an improvement over its regular sibling since the outgoing 2.0-litre oil burner in the old Tiguan which can generate 143 HP now will give way to a 190 HP 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline burner in the new AllSpace. The new petrol motor will be mated to a 7-speed DCT unit.

Expected to come to India via the CBU route, VW Tiguan AllSpace’s price will not be low at all. In fact, it willcertainly be higher than the outgoing Tiguan which is priced from INR 28.15 lakh to INR 31.54 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Tiguan AllSpace is likely to be priced in the range between INR 28.15 lakh to INR 31.54 lakh. Despite not being cheap at all, the Tiguan AllSpace can attract numerous SUV fans who need the third seat row’s flexibility along with German quality and comfort.
