Volvo Cars India Witnessed A 40% Growth In The First 10 Months Of 2018

Volvo Cars India has officially announced that there has been a growth of 40% in sales in the period from January to October 2018.

The automaker sold a record number of cars in the past 10 months, 2194 units as compared to 2029 vehicles sold in the entire 2017. The automaker associated this dramatic increase with some top-selling models of the company like the XC60 and the XC40, the most reasonably priced in the Volvo’s SUV line-up. Moreover, without brand engagement programs and the network expansion, the company would have never achieved this growth in sales.

Commenting on the phenomenal growth, Charles Frump, Managing Director - Volvo Cars India stated,

"We are extremely happy with our performance so far in 2018. The XC40 has been received well and its success is important for the brand to be accepted in the entry-level luxury segment. The network expansions too have contributed to the growth and we are on track to replicate the growth percentage previous year in 2018."

The growth in sales of Volvo becomes even more prominent when compared with its two rivals which are also dominating the Indian luxury segment. The market leader Mercedes-Ben sold 11,789 vehicles from January to September 2018, decreasing by 0.7% in comparison with the same period in 2017. Another competitor is BMW with an 11% increase in sales also in the same period of time.

While the mass-produced car market usually has difficulties in selling their products during the festive season, the Swedish luxury automaker considers this time to be a marvellous opportunity to sell more cars. Five brand-new dealerships have been established across the country in Kozhikode, Indore, Kolkata, Raipur and Noida.
