VW Polo And Vento Automatic Launched In India

VW has launched the AT trims of Vento and Polo in the Indian market. The deliveries of the new AT variants of Polo and Vento commenced on 15th September.

VW India has finally launched the new automatic trims of the BS6 Polo and Vento. The automaker says that both the cars will continue to offer the desired performance and acceleration that’s required for the Indian driving conditions. Based on the top-of-the-line variants, the new VW Polo GT TSI AT is priced at Rs 9.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the VW Vento Highline Plus AT costs at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). These are the only two trims with which automatic gearbox is offered. Both the VW cars derive power from a 1.0-litre TSI gasoline motor that produces 109bhp of power and 175 Nm of peak torque.

The manual trim comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the new AT trim gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The new BS6 VW Polo is claimed to offer a fuel mileage of 16.47 kmpl, while the Vento is rated to return 16.35 kmpl of fuel efficiency. Potential customers can book the new Polo AT and Vento AT at the company’s authorized dealership or via VW’s online portal. Deliveries are scheduled to commence on 15th September 2020. Talking about the new BS6 VW Polo GT TSI, it employs blacked-out ORVMs, ABS with EBD, GT TSI badging, dual airbags, rear bumper with diffuser, reverse parking sensors, blacked-out rear spoiler, GTI inspired seats, automatic climate control, voice command, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob and VW Connect connectivity suit.

On the other hand, the VW Vento Highline Plus features LED headlamps with auto-levelling functions and DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, 6.5-inch infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity options, steering mounted controls, leather seats, power-folding and adjustable outside mirrors, reverse parking camera, 4 airbags and much more. In other news, VW India has plans to launch a new compact SUV named as Taigun. It was showcased by the carmaker early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo. Once launched, it’ll rival with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Nissa Kicks.
