Volkswagen has revealed the feature list of its latest SUV, the VW T-Roc. Bookings have also commenced for the vehicle. Read ahead to know more.
Volkswagen had previously unveiled the T-Roc SUV at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s first-ever media event, in Delhi. The car was later put showcased at Auto Expo 2020. Now the feature list of the cars has been revealed, with the bookings now open for customers.
The 2020 Volkswagen T-Roc features a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 150PS and 250Nm of maximum power and peak torque, respectively. There is a single transmission option on offer, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
“T-Roc is one of the most confident cars we have ever built. It plays with colours and shapes. It’s a sporty SUV with a coupe-shape at the rear. We see young and modern consumers, who wish to combine their lifestyle with mobility, choose this T-Roc. We are planning to launch the SUV in April.”
- Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India
As for the exterior styling, the new VW T-Roc has plenty of brilliant details. At the front, you get a big grille with horizontal slats. The grille integrates beautifully into the LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lights. The side profile sleek yet muscular, with blacked-out A- and B-pillars. There are also diamond-cut alloy wheels on offer here. At the rear, you get a pair of LED-taillights. On the inside, we have leatherette seats, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, etc. Other features on offer are keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, and blacked-out ORVMs.
VW T-Roc is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform. An India-specific version of the MQB platform, called MQB A0 IN, is being used for the development of India-specific models, like the upcoming Skoda Vision IN and T-Cross. After launch, Volkswagen T-Roc will compete against Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, and Kia Seltos.
