Mercedes Benz S Class will make the world premiere next month. Ahead of the world debut, it is revealed that it will be the first car in the world to offer airbags for the rear passengers.

The new Mercedes-Benz S Class is scheduled to make its world debut on September 2. With the recently revealed details, the new S Class has garnered a lot of attention from the car fans across the globe. Mercedes-Benz S Class is always considered one of the most progressive car models in the world. The flagship luxury sedan always sets a new benchmark for the automotive market by offering innovative technologies whenever a new version is launched.

2021 Mercedes-Benz S Class is nearing its world premiere and ahead of the official reveal, there is some new information of that has surfaced the internet. According to the latest reveals, the Mercedes-Benz S Class will come with first-ever airbags for the second row, making it the first car in the world to offer this feature to offer safety to rear occupants from frontal impact.

Taking into account the fact that there might be children seating on the rear seat, the airbag application will be adjusted to ensure the safety for the child occupants. Along with the rear airbags, the passenger seats of the Mercedes S Class is also available with other features like belt bags and inflatable safety belt. These features will work together to maximise the safety of the rear passengers.

Besides these features, the Pre-Safe Impulse Side system is also another highlight of the new Mercedes-Benz S Class. By using the radar, the car can detect the imminent side impact. When a side impact is detected, the system will be activated. To reduce the danger, the occupants will be pushed toward the centre of the vehicle by inflating the side air cushion. Moreover, the ride height will be increased, hence creating a stiffer structure to reduce the impact of the crash.

The above-mentioned technologies are just a part of the package offered on the Mercedes S Class. The new S Class flagship luxury sedan will bring in a host of cutting-edge driving assistance, comfort and safety features. Apart from the flux of new highly advanced technologies, the sedan also comes with new interior design. With the new design, the usage of traditional buttons will be minimized and make way for displays and touch-sensitive surfaces. There will be a full-digital coloured instrument console and a touchscreen for the centre console.

The new Mercedes S Class will be offered with a wide range of powertrain choices. In addition to the regular ICE options, for the first time, the German carmaker will include a full-electric variant on the range. This electric vehicle is called the EQS. In India, the new Mercedes-Benz S Class is expected to go on sale next year.
