New Generation Hyundai i20 Snapped Out in the Sun

The Korean automaker is all set to introduce the new-gen i20 in the Indian market in the second half of this year. The all-new hatchback is expected to be offered with three different powertrain options namely- a 1.2-litre MPi petrol mill, 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine and a 1.5-litre CRDi oil burner. Once launched, the car will rub shoulders with the likes of Maruti Baleno and Tata Altroz. In fact, we won't be too surprised if the new-gen modle steals the limelight from the hot-selling Baleno. Make no mistake, over the years, the current i20 has been posting decent sales numbers on a monthly basis. However, it's still just about a patch on the sales performance of its biggest adversary. That said, the next-gen model, which promises to be quite an improvement over the current model, could finally help the South Korean nameplate attain the numero uno status. The all-new model is expected to be retailed at a starting price of Rs 5.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
