You'll Be Able To Buy BS4 Cars Once Lockdown Ends

The Supreme Court has finally allowed all car and bike manufacturers to retail BS4 vehicles even post 1st April 2020 on the lifting of the leftdown. However, there are a lot of restrictions attached to this update. Given below is the decision made by the Supreme Court on the unsold BS4 vehicles.

Supreme Court has allowed the dealers to sell 10% of the leftover BS4 stock, which means dealerships with leftover cars like the Tata Hexa can sell it once the lockdown lifts

1) A resident of Delhi or National Capital Region is not allowed to buy a BS4 compliant four-wheeler or a two-wheeler, which means BS4 vehicles will not take place in Delhi NCR. 
2) Supreme Court has allowed the dealers to sell 10% of the leftover BS4 stock. In our opinion, this decision by the Supreme Court is quite harsh because due to this lockdown several showrooms are not operations from the past few days. 
3) As per the news, 90% of the car sales will have to be of the BS6 compliant vehicles. Most of the two-wheeler and four-wheeler manufacturers in India have updated their entire fleet as per the BS6 emission norms. 
4) The vehicle registration of the BS4 vehicles will have to be done within these ten days.
5) The timeline of this is not clear at the moment because the country will remain in lock-down till 14th April 2020. 
6) One can expect the sale of BS4 cars and bikes to be allowed from 15th to 24th April.
7) Huge discounts will be offered with the leftover BS4 stock because the deadline is quite short. 

The industry is losing around Rs 1,500 crore every day

Around 7,20,000 BS4 vehicles remain unsold in India, with this count comprising seven lakh two-wheelers, 12,000 cars and 8,000 commercial vehicles. Also, the Indian automobile industry is even facing a huge loss due to this lockdown. The industry is losing around Rs 1,500 crore every day. Many car launches have got delayed due to ongoing lockdown, but the carmakers are now taking crucial steps for customer safety.
