Nissan is all set to launch their new cars – Nissan Kick in the Indian market in January 2019. The Kicks will mark the start of Nissan’s new plan and strategy in India, which will also mean that there will be many things to expect from this new SUV.

In the years to come, Nissan has an ambitious plan for making its way in the Indian market. Along with introducing new models packed with fantastic options, the Japanese automaker will expand their service network as well. Possibly, Nissan Kicks’ customers will get the best of both worlds, product quality, and good services. Before the official launch, IndianAuto will give you the Nissan Kicks Review 2018 in India

1. Nissan Kicks Exterior

The Kicks will not only be the first cars to be launched under Nissan’s new scheme, but it will also adopt the company’s newest design language which is characterized by sharp and bold shoulder line and prominent flared arch above the wheels. Together with the floating roof, the Kicks will go straight into your heart for its alluring and sleek design.

India-spec Kicks will be larger than the recent compact version in the international market

On the front face, Indian-spec cars will get a V-shaped grille with chrome insert. In the international compact version, Nissan Kicks features a noticeable swept-back headlight and rear light housing. It will possibly come with dual tone paint option just like the European counterpart.

What’s more, it is suspected that Indian-spec Kicks will take the same path as the Captur does, which means that it will have a larger dimension. That is also the approach that Nissan will apply for India: it will strongly be localized the construction with lesser cosmetic changes. It is likely that Indian market’s Kick will be based on the V-platform which follows with a greater wheelbase and ground clearance.

The increase in size will significantly transform the look of the Kicks. While the international siblings give an impression of a crossover-like hatchback, our SUV Kicks will be more imposing and give a stronger road presence.

Besides the bigger size, it is predictable that it will come with many more SUV-ish elements which are roof rail, arch wheel or body cladding, pronounced bumper and so on.

2. Nissan Kicks Interior

As we said earlier, the Indian-spec Nissan Kicks will come in larger size, and thus, a greater interior room.

Before we know the exact look of the new Nissan Kick for the Indian market, let’s envision what it will look like on the inside by examine the Kicks from other countries. The international Kicks get all-black interior which is likely to be replaced by a beige theme in the India version.

It is expected that the Kicks for the Indian market will get a beige color scheme

Besides, one thing we can assure is that the Nicks could do quite well with the space solution. Both the front and the rear are ample and could allow at best five people to sit comfortably. The cabin layout will also be sorted out with plenty of well-thought storage spaces.

3. Nissan Kicks features

For the top-end range, the Kicks will offer a fully-loaded interior. As we expect, the Kicks will come with the following techs:

  • Eight-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

  • Keyless entry

  • Push start/stop button

  • Automatic climate control

  • Reverse parking camera with sensors

  • Full-view camera

  • Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror

Besides that, it will be much better if Nissan could provide with electric sunroof, leather-wrapped seat and split rear seats.

4. Nissan Kicks Performance

Nissan Kicks will receive power from a 1.5-litre petrol and the same size diesel engine which has been seen in the Terrano. These units could make about 110PS and 240Nm. The international version, on the other hand, gets a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. And obviously, these engines are more powerful than the Indian Kicks’ smaller engine. But unfortunately, they could not make it to India due to the taxations and development costs.

  • In India, the Nicks might come with both manual and automatic version. In Brazil, the Nicks comes with CVT gearbox options, which we hope that India version could receive as well.

  • From what we have experienced from the Terrano Kicks offers a great performance high driveability, especially with the diesel engine which shows limited turbo lag. Mid and high range are where the Kicks find itself most lively and nimble. One minus is that the gear throw is quite short, but the sixth gear might make up for this.

  • With the 1.6-litre engine, the Kicks offer 118bhp at hand and could rev up to redlines at ease.
