Skoda Scala's Interior Sketch Revealed, To Be Launch In 2019 In Europe

Skoda will take the wraps off their Scala on December 6, 2018. As far as we know, the car will be based on the MQB A0 platform that underpins the Skoda Rapid in Europe. It is also expected that the design of Scala is inspired by the Vision RS Concept. Lately, the sketch of the interior has been revealed, giving us some hints on how the future Scala will look like from the inside.

From the stretch, you can notice the appearance of a 9.2-inch floating infotainment touchscreen. This unit will come along with other updates and Apps support. Another highlight of the dashboard is the 10.3-inch Virtual Cockpit unit for the information cluster. This feature is much likely to be featured on the top-spec variants only.

Skoda also promises to bring in the high-quality material for the interior, for example, microfiber upholstery which you can only see in higher-priced cars.

Even though in the sketch image, the cabin comes in black and grey colour. However, it is expected that black-beige will be the official colour scheme. To quote the exact words from Skoda, the new hatch Scala will come with “new emotional exterior and interior design language for the first time in series production.”

Besides, Skoda also reveals that the Scala will sport a roomy boot space of 467 litres. And it could go up to 1410 litres with the rear backrest being folded. The length of the Scala will measure at around 4.3 metres while the wheelbase will be around 2.6 metres.

Under the hood, the petrol Scala will draw power from a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine along with a 1.5-litre motor. The smaller petrol unit is able to produce from 84BHP to 109BHP, while the larger engine edges out with the peak power output of 148BHP. On the diesel version, a 1.6-litre motor will available.

Skoda Scala will be launched in early 2019 in the Europe market. It is still not sure about the possibility of the Skoda Scala entering the India market. However, you can expect to see the Scala’s influence on Skoda’s future models. Right now, the manufacturer is preparing for the introduction of an SUV based on the same MQB-A0 platform in India by 2020.
