10 Best-Selling Cars In India In June 2019 – Hyundai Venue Beats Creta, Maruti Alto Takes The First Spot
The Indian automobile market is undergoing the toughest time in recent years. Except for Mahindra & Mahindra, almost all automotive brands in India posted negative sales performance in June 2019, even with the market leader, Maruti Suzuki also witnessing a massive sales slump of 17.2 per cent for the fifth consecutive month.
Good news is, several carmakers have already opened up some new opportunities for the Indian car market. For the very first time, three SUVs including the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Creta have made their presence felt in the top 10 highest-selling cars in India for the month of June 2019. The Hyundai Venue, which was launched in India on May 21 with a suite of variants, long features list along with three compelling engine options, has surpassed the sales of best-selling Hyundai Creta and made its way to the ninth spot of the sales chart, with 8,763 units after merely one month on sale in the country.

The popular Hyundai Creta was retailed at 8,334 unit, sliding down to the 10th position of the June sale chart. A car that has constantly faced the heat due to the growing competition in the segment is the Maruti Brezza. The compact SUV stood at the eighth spot of the table as it was able to garner 8,871 buyers in June 2019. The numbers are expected to change immensely in the next months.

Back to the top spots, the iconic Maruti Alto has taken back its crown from the Maruti Swift, with 18,733 units registered in the month of June while the Swift managed to attract 16,330 takers in the same month. Note that the Maruti Swift was the best-selling model in May 2019 with the total sale numbers of 17,039 units. That being said, the two popular hatches from Maruti Suzuki seem to follow hot on the heels of each other over the times.
Maruti Dzire continues to be the most sold sedan of the country last month, with the overall sales figures of 14,868 units which make it become the third most-selling car across India. Whereas, its Maruti Baleno sibling, which was once one of the hottest hatchbacks available for sale in the country, now witnessed a significant sales de-growth of 23.31 per cent compared to the year-ago period. In June 2019, the Maruti Baleno was able to garner 13,689 takers as against 17,850 buyers registered in the same month of 2018.

With 10,228 units sold last month, the all-new Maruti WagonR continued the good sales momentum from its launch and managed to find the fifth spot of top 10 most preferred cars of India, followed by the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Eeco which gathered good sales tallies of 9,271 units and 9,265 units, respectively.
