10 Best-Selling Cars In September 2020: From Maruti Swift To Hyundai Elite i20

In September 2020, Maruti Suzuki had seven models in the top 10 best-selling vehicles in India. The largest automaker recorded 1,60,442 units with a YoY growth of 30.8%. Maruti Suzuki had a sales number of 1,50,040 units while 2,568 units were supplied to TKM. The 10 top-selling cars in India last month also witnessed the presence of models from Hyundai.

The Maruti Swift kept the first position with 22,643 units sold last month. The Baleno continued to maintain a good sales number which is recorded as 19,443 units, which helps the hatchback keep the second position. The Maruti Alto registered 18,246, sitting in the third position. The Maruti Wagon R kept the fourth position with 17,581 units sold last month. The Dzire led the compact sedan segment with 13,998 units, which helped it stand ahead of the Hyundai Creta whose sales number has gradually increased to 12,325 units last month.

The Maruti Eeco records a sales number of 11,220 units, keeping the seventh position. Next is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, a competitor against the Maruti Swift, registered 10,373 units, being ranked in the eighth position. In the two last positions are the Maruti Ertiga and Hyundai Elite i20 with 9,982 units and 9,852 units sold. The Elite i20 is expected to receive a new generation with numerous updates inside out as well as new powertrain options.
