10 Reasons Why You Should Choose Tata Nexon over Ford EcoSport – VIDEO

The sub-4m compact-SUVs space is one of the biggest segments in the Indian car market. Almost every month, a new or updated model joins the competition. Premier Rio was the first product in this segment. However, it was the Ford EcoSport that gave it the much-needed kick-start. Being one of the oldest contenders here, the EcoSport still manages to find a lot of buyers for itself. On the other hand, Tata Nexon was the first product in this space to boast of a 5-star crash test rating. But which one should you choose, if you are planning to get home a sub-4m compact-SUV? First and the foremost reason he shares is the safety rating. The Nexon has scored a 5-star crash test rating at Global-NCAP’s testbed, whereas the Ford EcoSport has not been put to test by the Global-NCAP yet. The second reason to buy Nexon over the Ford EcoSport according to the host is its ground clearance. The Nexon sits 210 mm above the ground, while the Ford EcoSport has a ground clearance of 200 mm. Moving over to the third reason, he states that Tata Nexon comes with more safety features as standard in contrast to the Ford EcoSport.

The fourth reason is the wide after-sales & service network of Tata Motors. The next reason is performance. The host has compared the diesel trims of both the cars, and the Nexon here offers higher peak torque of 260 Nm in contrast to 215 Nm of the Ford EcoSport. Also, the host claims that Nexon has a lighter clutch as it comes with a self-adjusting unit. Another reason he adds is the superior multi-information-display of Tata Nexon. Besides, the Tata Nexon comes with a better sound system than the Ford EcoSport, and thus offers better audio quality. Moreover, the Nexon comes with three driving modes – City, Eco, Sport, whereas the Ford EcoSport gets none. Also, the Nexon offers the option of an automatic gearbox with the diesel powertrain.
