In its fifth-generation now, the Honda City locks horns with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Venue, Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid and VW Vento
The all-new fifth-gen Honda City was launched in the Indian auto market several months ago. The Honda City is a popular mid-size sedan in both the used and new car market and competes against the Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Hyundai Verna. Several modified versions of the Honda City have been available and here is one such example from Malaysia with a body kit.
The images have been uploaded on Malaysia-based Nous Garage’s Facebook page and the package looks really sporty. The Honda City is equipped with a Tyre R kit which gives a robust appearance to the whole car. In the front, the stock bumper has given way to a new one with air vents. The car also gets black mesh garnish around the fog lights and a gloss black lip spoiler with contrasting red stripes. This regular Honda City also has its grille substituted with a unit from the RS variant.
On the side profile, the car runs on aftermarket 8-spoke alloy rims. The vehicle also gets a gloss black skirting with red highlights. All of the windows’ tints are black, which matches its overall white paint scheme well. In the rear, the car features smoked taillights, tyre R bumper with a large air vent on the either ends. The rear diffuser comes with a polishing black finish and a chrome triple exhaust tip. The modified Honda City also gets a large spoiler on the boot, which gives it an extremely sporty appearance.
Whether the interior of the Honda City has experienced any alterations or not remains to be unknown. The India-spec Honda City is powered by a new DOHC 1.5-litre NA gasoline burner and a 1.5-litre oil unit with power/torque figures of 121 PS/145 Nm and 100 PS/200 Nm, respectively. Both the petrol and the diesel versions come with a 6-speed MT and an optional 7-sped CVT for the former.
