2020 Hyundai Creta is offered with a frugal 1.5L oil burner that delivers more kilometres to a litre than a lot of other SUVs. Check here to know how frugal is the new 2020 Hyundai Creta.

2020 Hyundai Creta was the best-selling car for the month of May this year. According to Hyundai, there’s equal demand for both petrol and diesel variants of the Creta. Talking of the price difference, the diesel trims of the 2020 Creta are over Rs. 1 lakh more expensive than their petrol counterparts. The primary reason behind the huge demand for diesel-powered Creta is its frugality. The ARAI-rated fuel consumption for the manual variant of the Creta with 1.5L oil burner under its hood stands at 21.4 kmpl. This figure is exceptionally great for a C-segment SUV. But, is it capable of returning the same figure in the real-world conditions, remain an unanswered question. Nevertheless, here’s a video, which packs in the answer.

To calculate the mileage via tank to tank method, the host makes a simple arithmetical calculation of division. He divides the total distance covered after the first tank full (150.9 km) by total fuel filled in second fill-up. Mileage of a shade over 25 kmpl is received. However, it should be noted here that this test was conducted while a partial lockdown was imposed in the country. Thus, most of the roads were free from traffic jams, hence supplementing the overall mileage figures. Talking of this engine’s output, it develops 115 PS of peak power and 250 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed MT here; however, one can also opt for 6-speed automatic transmission.
