2020 Hyundai i20 N Officially Revealed With Styling Upgrades And Powerful Motors

The upcoming Hyundai i20 N has recently had its revealed and is expected to be launched in the international market next year to complement Hyundai’s list of high-performance N models. The new hatchback, based on the all-new Hyundai i20 and inspired by the successful WRC i20, will be an adrenaline-packed hot hatch.

The new Hyundai i20 N will be launched next year to become the most powerful variant of the i20 lineup.

Being the most performance-oriented iteration of the Hyundai i20, the N model is made as powerful as possible. The i20 N receives its power from a 1.6-litre turbo 4-cyl motor which can generate 204 BHP against 275 Nm and is mated to a standard 6-speed MT. The hatchback is claimed to accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in only 6.7 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 kmph.

As regards the performance of the motor, a wide range of updates have been utilized to prove the car’s sporty nature. The motor comes with a wider intercooler and turbo with a 350-bar fuel-injection system. With a view to increasing the performance, the engine also gets variable valve timing. The South Korean automaker has also paid attention to efficient power delivery. The 6-speed MT comes with rev-matching capability to offer an option limited-slip differential and launch control. The chassis has been reinforced; the steering response has been tweaked; and the front brakes have been widened by 40 mm. The i20 N also gets a brake pad wear indicator, left-foot braking calibration and Pirelli P Zero rubbers on all four corners.

As regards the design, the Hyundai i20 N also features upgrades over the regular model. The exterior comes with a re-styled front bumper with wider air intakes, lip spoiler with red stripes larger side skirts, faux rear diffuser and N-badging mounted across different corners. A functional roof spoiler and a larger single-exit exhaust are also available. The new hatchback's cabin features an all-black paint scheme with N Performance Blue accenting. The interior features a host of alterations against the regular model such as an N-branded steering wheel, gear knob, pedals and new sports seats.
