The Maruti Ciaz is powered by only a BSVI-compliant 1.5-litre gasoline burner with an SHVS mild-hybrid system which is included in Maruti Suzuki’s K-series of engine family and serves as the substitute for the BSIV 1.4-litre petrol motor in the previous version. This engine can deliver 104.5 PS against 138 Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed torque convertor. The two diesel motors which previously power the Ciaz have been discontinued, which reflects the Indian largest automaker’s commitment to putting an end to diesel engines.
