2020 Mahindra Bolero Facelift Gets Itself A Set Of Offroad Rims

Mahindra Bolero is the oldest product that Mahindra sells in India. It is based on the modified version of Armada Grand’s platform and is on sale since the year 2000. It is loved for its utilitarian appeal and built-to-last attitude. It is often compared to the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen for its boxy silhouette. The Bolero is almost 20 years old in the Indian market but it still sells in good numbers. Also, a lot of them can be seen running on massive 20-inch aftermarket alloy wheels. However, this time we came across something really new. It is the recently launched facelifted version of the car and sits on a set of aftermarket offroad rims. The car belongs to Avvi, who hails from Punjab.

The aftermarket offroad spec rims gives the Bolero a nicer stance.

These are negative offset steel rims that are generally used in lifted vehicles to compensate for their increased ride height, which consequently results in a higher centre of gravity. These rims appear to be 15 inches in diameter and are shod with HT-spec rubber. The Bolero facelift was launched in April this year with subtle changes to its nose. It now gets a wider and rectangular radiator grille that further merges with the squarish headlamps. The bumper of the Bolero has also been altered to withstand the new pedestrian safety norms.

Talking of the engine, it is a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 75 PS of peak power and 210 Nm of max. torque. It sends power to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Bolero comes suspended on double wishbone type front suspension and a rigid axle at the rear. Sadly the Bolero misses out on the option of a 4WD layout in its BS-6 avatar. Interestingly, the car now fits in the compact-SUV bracket, with its overall length measuring in at 3,995 mm. The width and height of the Bolero are capped at 1,745 mm and 1,845 mm, respectively. The prices for the Bolero start at Rs. 7.76 lakh for the entry-level B4 trim and tops out at Rs. 8.78 lakh for the top-sped B6 (Opt) variant.
