New TVC of 2020 Maruti Ciaz Focusses on Sedan's Spacious Interior

Maruti Suzuki offers a wide range of vehicles that have been selling in decent numbers, with models like the Maruti Ciaz ruling their respective segment with stellar sales performance every month. The Maruti Ciaz is undoubtedly one of the most successful vehicles in its category and is the only car to have outclassed the Honda City on the sales charts. Other than the City, it also rivals the Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid. However, being a model of the country’s largest automaker doesn’t mean that it is always in a safe place. Maruti Suzuki has to instantly do something to cope with the fiercer competition that will arise from the introduction of the new-gen Honda City. In order to bring the Ciaz back into the limelight, the comapny has come up with a new TVC that highlights one of the biggest strenghts of this sedan - its spacious interior. 

Uploaded on Nexa’s official Youtube channel, the TVC video shows us the upmarket and spacios cabin of the Maruti Ciaz 2020. The company has referred to the interior through the tagline “Be in a Good Space”'. Overall, the essence of the new Ciaz TVC is to advocate the core value propositions of the sedan to the Indian audience. The camera focuses on the segment-leading spacious cabin of the Ciaz to tell us how comfortable the mid-size sedan really is. The interior is rather bright and premium, all adding to the upmarket feel and appeal of the whole vehicle.

It comes with leather-wrapped steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and a suite of other features. Particularly, in its updated avatar, the new Ciaz looks even more premium than before, in which the gloss black front grille with chrome embellishments, revamped projector headlamps and tail lamps along with the chrome garnish on bumpers give the car a better look.

Due to the stringent BSVI norms as well as Maruti Suzuki’s strategy to focus on petrol motors, the diesel variants of the Ciaz have been phased out from the market. The Ciaz is now available with a BS6-spec locally-built 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine that also powers some Maruti Suzuki cars like the Ertiga, XL6 or 2020 Brezza petrol. This mill is generating maximum power of 105 PS and 130 Nm of peak torque. There’s also a Smart Hybrid system that aids much in improving the efficiency of the Ciaz. Transmission duty is handled by either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic torque converter option.

In the current market, Maruti Ciaz is an extremely fast runner. During the FY2019-20, the Maruti Ciaz has been selling 3 times more than Skoda Rapid, making it the most popular sedan car in its class. The Ciaz 2020 price is in between Rs 8.31 – 11.09 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
