2021 Ford EcoSport Rendered, Looks Posher Than Outgoing Model

Ford EcoSport made its grand entry to the Indian showrooms of the American brand in the year 2013. It was launched at a starting price of Rs. 5.59 lakh. While it wasn’t the very-first compact-SUV to go on sale in the country, it surely kick-started the segment. Now, the car is over 7 years old and has started to show off its age. However, it still is the most SUV-ish design with a high-set bonnet, wrap-around rear windscreen, and tailgate-mounted spare wheel. Nevertheless, the EcoSport is due for a generation change now and will make its global debut in new-gen avatar by early next year. But, how will the new-gen model look like? Don’t be worried, our in-house design artist – Shoeb R. Kalania has created a digital rendering of his illustrations of the next-gen Ford EcoSport.

In the rendering, the sub-4m compact-SUV does look masculine enough to attract the Indian audience. Standing true to the SUV-specific aesthetics, it gets a high-set bonnet with lesser creases now but continues to get the pronounced haunches on the sides. The hexagonal radiator grille has now moved upwards. Also, it is chrome studded now and is flanked by sleek LED headlamps on either side. Sandwiched between the grille, headlamps, and the bonnet are the L-shaped sharp-looking DRLs.

Lower down the front face, the next-gen EcoSport gets an aggressively-designed front bumper. This time around, it gets sharp creases against the fast-flowing lines seen on the outgoing model. The pentagonal fog lamp housings are connected to each other as well. Also, there is a prominent silver skid plate at the bottom that gives the front facet a butch appeal.

On the sides, the next-gen EcoSport largely resembles the outgoing model, but the rendering artist has infused certain tweaks, such as revised creases, smoother shoulder line, redesigned alloy wheels, and smaller rear quarter glass. Furthermore, accentuating the overall appeal of the car is the all-black cladding that now runs over the wheel arches as well, which isn’t the case with the current-gen EcoSport. The Raptor-spec Ford Performance Blue colour is giving this rendered next-gen EcoSport a sportier charisma. Talking of the powertrain, the next-gen Ford EcoSport will borrow mStallion turbo-petrol engine from Mahindra XUV300.
