2021 Jeep Compass Gets PPF Treatment to Preserve Glossy Looks

The American automaker Jeep has recently launched the new Compass facelift in the Indian market. The 2021 model of the SUV features subtle cosmetic and feature updates on the outside and on the inside, respectively. It is the top-selling product in the carmaker’s Indian portfolio. In its segment, it rivals the likes of Tata Harrier and MG Hector. Since the Jeep is still away from being called as a mass-market carmaker in the Indian market, it has a niche customer base. In fact, most of them can be addressed as enthusiasts who love to pamper their cars. Here's one such example of the newly-launched Jeep Compass, which gets PPF (Paint Protection Film) to keep its paint intact for long-lasting shine.

This video has been uploaded by a YouTube channel named Car Styelin. One can see in the video how professionally they are putting the PPF around the body of the SUV. They have removed all the major exterior panels like headlamps, grille, wheel arch cladding, side mirrors, door handles, taillights and roof rails. All these components have been removed by the customizer to give a good finishing to the PPF.

Talking of the PPF, it is a sort of plastic lamination employed on the exterior surface of a vehicle to protect the body of a car from minor dents and scratches. It preserves the showroom shine of the vehicle and protects the original paint of the car from natural pollutants like acid rain, direct sunlight and dust.

The overall cost of this modification is not known, but one can directly contact the modifier for more information. Mechanically, the 2021 Jeep Compass derives power from a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The former puts out 163 Bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 173 Bhp and 350 Nm, respectively. The manual trims of the SUV are offered with a 6-speed MT. On the other hand, the automatic variants get a 7-speed DCT with the petrol mill and a 9-speed AT with the oil burner. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 28.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end variant.
