Maruti has refreshed one of its most successful models, the Swift. It now comes with new features and a new grille. Today we have this walkaround video of the 2021 Swift in VXI trim.

Maruti Suzuki has just launched the facelifted 2021 Swift in India. The best-selling hatchback gets a mid-life refresh which updates the design a little and adds more features. There’s a new front grille that gets silver accents of the grille mesh along with a chrome strip running along the centre. You also get three new dual-tone colours - Pearl Arctic White with Pearl Midnight Black roof, Solid Fire Red with Pearl Midnight Black roof, Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue with Pearl Arctic White roof. Visual changes other than that are more nip and tuck than anything drastic, giving it a fresher look but remains similar overall. Today we have this walkaround video for the 2021 Swift VXI manual.

The video has been uploaded by Ujjwal Saxena on YouTube, in which we get a walkaround view of the new Maruti Swift VXI manual variant. As mentioned above, the biggest noticeable change between the old and the new models is the silver accented grille and chrome strip in the middle. The VXI variant doesn’t come with foglamps and instead of alloys, it is shod with 14-inch steel wheels. It does come with body coloured electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and body coloured door handles though. Other than that the exterior of the updated Swift remains fairly similar. Over to the interior, you get a flat bottomed steering wheel with in-built controls for volume and calls.  You now get a bigger MID display between the analogue dials. Unlike the top trims, the VXI gets a simple touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. You also get a button for the idle start/stop feature which is available across all variants. As it is a mid-life refresh, most of the interior remains similar to the old model, but it does now get a silver accented trim on the dashboard to give it a dual-tone finish.

The new Maruti Swift is powered by the new-generation 1.2-litre Dual Jet VVT petrol engine which also powers the Baleno. The new powertrain makes max power of 90 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine also comes with Idle Start Stop tech for improved fuel efficiency and also gets Dual VVT and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation system that helps lower emissions.

Safety-wise, the new Swift now gets an Electronic Stability Program with a hill-hold function on the AMT variants, bigger front and rear brakes, as well as revised steering with a better return-ability mechanism. It also comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, front-seat seatbelt warning, seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters, ISOFIX anchors, reverse parking sensors and cameras.
