Take a look at this neat rendering of Renault Kiger's rear 3 quarters. Looks better than the competition?

Renault has been doing great at making small, practical, and affordable cars. The carmaker has managed to grab handsome sales figures with the Duster, followed by the Kwid. Now, the French carmaker is planning to use the same formula as the Duster and the Kwid to develop a sub-4m compact-SUV for the Indian market. Well, all of us are already aware of the fact that Renault will soon be launching its first sub-4m compact-SUV – Kiger in the country. It has been spotted numerous times while on the test. But what it will look like? Here’s a neat rendering of its rear profile, made by our in-house design expert – Shoeb R. Kalania, to give you folks an idea of its aesthetics.

In the above image, the Renault Kiger looks amazing. It features a smart-looking rear facet, thanks to the sharp creases that are visible on the tailgate. Also, the C-shaped tail lamps add to the overall muscular effect. The bumper here is a dual-tone unit and has neatly integrated reflectors. The design for the scuff plates looks great as well. On the sides, chunky black-coloured claddings are also fixed on the wheel arches. Moreover, a metallic applique can be seen on the front fender, which seems inspired by the international-spec Duster. On the whole, rear three-quarters of the Kiger look exciting enough to make people appreciate its design.

Based on the same underpinning as the Nissan Magnite, the Kiger will also borrow its powertrains from the newest Nissan in the Indian market. Thus, it will be offered with two engine options – 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbocharged petrol. The naturally aspirated power plant will put out a rated power output of 72 PS and max torque of 96 Nm. The turbocharged unit will develop a peak power and torque output of 100 PS and 160 Nm, respectively.  The transmission options will include a 5-speed MT and a CVT. Also, like the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger is expected to go on sale at an affordable and lucrative price tag. Once launched, the Kiger will rival the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and more.
