4-star Tata Tigor Hit By an Out-of-Control Truck, Keeps Driver TOTALLY SAFE

Tata Tigor is currently the only sedan that Tata Motors sells in the country. Based on the same platform as the Tiago, it boasts of a 4-star crash test rating. The safety aspect of the Tigor has often been celebrated by its owners as they have walked out of some major road accidents completely unhurt. Here’s one such incident that of a Tigor being hit by a truck. The incident took place on National Highway 1, which is also known as Grand Trunk Road. According to the owner of the car, he had parked his Tata Tigor on the shoulder of the road to attend a phone call. He claims that he saw a speeding truck coming towards him after jumping over the road divider.

The Tata Tigor owner says that after spotting the truck darting toward him, he turned the car on to save himself. But, by the time he could move, the truck had collided with the vehicle. He says that the truck driver was drunk and thus, could not control the over-speeding vehicle. It can be seen in the video that the Tigor has suffered some major damages to its rear end and right-hand side. On the right-hand side of the car, crucial body parts like B- & C-pillar, front and rear doors, rear fender, and boot lid have been severely damaged. The effect of the impact has also damaged the chassis of this Tiago. In the video, the truck driver can be seen in an inebriated state.

At the time of the accident, only the driver was there in the car. He states that if it was for any other car, he would not be alive. The Tiago comes with a slew of safety features as standard fitment across the range. The list includes dual front airbags, front seat belt reminders, ABS with EBD, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, corner stability control, and rear parking sensors. However, the top-spec trim also gets the added convenience of front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger, day-night IRVM and more.
