Tata Nexon is quite fancied by the Indian audience for the safety rating it boasts of and the way it looks. In its facelifted avatar, it gives a miss to the bulbous headlamp units for a set of sleek headlamps. Also, it gets a longer list of features now. But, it continues to do with a 5-star Global-NCAP crash test rating, which was a case with the pre-facelift model as well. Tata Nexon has proved of its strong build quality in the accidents by keeping the occupants away from injury. We recently came across a set of pictures, where a Tata Nexon turned turtle after its driver lost the control on the car.

Tata Nexon Overturns Twice, Owners Walks Out With No Injuries

This incident took place somewhere in Bihar. The driver of the car walked out of the accident with no injuries at all, although, the car overturned twice. Talking of the Nexon’s safety features, it comes loaded with a lot of safety equipment. The list includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt alarm, high-speed alerts, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load-limiters, rear parking sensors, ESP, traction control, roll-over mitigation, brake disc wiping, electronic brake pre-fill, electronic brake assist, and hill-hold control as standard fitment across the range.

The top-end trims also get the added convenience of rear parking camera, day-night IRVM, front fog lamps with cornering function, and rear windscreen defogger. Tata Nexon is offered with 2 engine options – 1.2L turbo-petrol and 1.5L turbo-diesel. The 3-pot turbocharged petrol motor is capable of putting out a peak power output of 120 PS and max torque of 170 Nm. The 4-cylinder turbocharged oil burner, on the other hand, belts out 110 PS of peak power and 260 Nm of max torque. The gearbox options on the Nexon include a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT.

Prices for the Tata Nexon start at Rs. 6.99 lakh and tops out at Rs. 12.70 lakh. It is offered in a total of 6 colour options, namely Foliage Green, Pure Silver, Calgary White, Daytona Grey, Flame Red, and Tectonic Blue. Tata Nexon rivals the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300.
