Refreshed earlier this year, the Tata Tiago has been the most popular model in the homegrown carmaker's local lineup. It rivals the likes of Maruti WagonR

Car dealerships in India have been penalized by the Supreme Court in the past for various fraudulent activities. The retributions, however, have not stopped them from cheating the customers. Recently, we came across a video on YouTube, which was uploaded by Bhavna Singh. In the video, an employee of Tata Motors dealership 'Arvind Auto Sales' can be seen in the uniform. This dealership is located out of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The employee in the video explains how the dealership managed to sell a repaired Tata Tiago to a customer as a new car. According to the employee, this Tiago was delivered on August 7. However, it met with an accident a week before the delivery.

The employee claims that this was done under the supervision of dealership manager – Devkinandan Yadav and dealership owner – Mayank Bansal. Talking of the accident, it took place when this Tiago was being transported to another dealer. Since the damages were extensive, the dealer denied accepting the car. Therefore, folks at Arvind Auto Sales sold the Tiago as a new one to the buyer.

Also, there are visible signs of tools being used on the hinges of the driver-side door and bonnet.

While after-sales and service have always been considered as a weakness of the Indian manufacturer, malpractices conducted before delivery is furthermore disappointing. However, we expect that Tata Motors will look into this issue. Since, the carmaker cannot afford to have a stain on its image at this point of time when it has just started picking up the pace on the sales chart. Tiago is the smallest offering from the brand, and it starts at a price tag of Rs. 4.69 lakh. It comes with a 1.2L petrol engine, which is capable of putting our 86 PS and 113 Nm. The gearbox options on the Tiago include a 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.
