Here's a Maruti Baleno whose alloy wheels were stolen in Delhi. The incident has come to light merely days after rims of Kia Seltos and new Hyundai Creta were stolen

The country is currently dealing with the most-gruesome pandemic that mankind has ever seen. While everyone is trying to attain normalcy, the ongoing financial uncertainty is still in place. Unsurprisingly, this has led to an increasein case of theft. Recently, a  Maruti Baleno in Delhi was seen parked on a stack of bricks as the thieves took away its alloy wheels. This incident comes into light after a Kia Seltos and a new Hyundai Creta were recently seen with their wheels stolen.

The car seems to be barely old and belongs to Ashu Daga. His Baleno was parked outside the house for the night, which gave the thieves an opportunity to perform the act. The Baleno in the pictures is the top-spec variant, which comes with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Thankfully in such a situation, an insurance claim can be made and one can get a new set of wheels as a part of the claim. In case instant results are all that you are looking for, new alloy wheels from Maruti’s accessory store can be brought at a price of Rs. 7,290 per unit. The price comes up to Rs. 29,160 for a set of 4 wheels. Also, regardless of which option you pick, you'll have to pay for new tires.

Also, to avoid landing yourself in such a situation again, parking the car at a safe spot is advisable. If it is not possible, then parking close to a wall with front wheels turned towards the wall would help. This way, the thieves would not be able to access the wheels of the side that is close to the wall. Also, with the wheel turned towards the wall, getting the lug nuts off the front wheel becomes a huge task. Another get away from such a situation is the use of locking lug nuts.

Talking of the Maruti Baleno, it is a premium hatchback offering from the country's largest carmaker. However, it can also be had with a 48V mild-hybrid system that bumps up the power output to 90 PS with extra 2 kmpl of mileage. The gearbox options on the Baleno comprise a 5-speed manual unit and a CVT.
