Take a look at this rendering to see how the next-gen Mahindra KUV100 Nxt could look like with a front fascial similar to that of the XUV300

Mahindra has recently revealed the new-gen Thar in the country. Along with the unveiling, the carmaker has released a set of videos of the new-gen Thar, which showcases the car’s journey from a pre-production prototype to its production-spec avatar. In one of these videos, we could spot a small car with heavy camouflage doing rounds at Mahindra’s test facility. This micro-SUV is likely to be the next-gen iteration of the Mahindra KUV100 Nxt. While the video, could not deliver a lot of details of the car’s look, our in-house design specialist has created a rendering of the same, and it looks appealing.

While, the outgoing model of the KUV100 Nxt sports a distinctive design, the next-gen model in the rendering has been infused with a lot of contemporary elements. Also, it borrows a lot of design cues from the Mahindra XUV300 and Funster Concept. From the latter, it gets the LED DRLs. The headlamps here are vertically split units like the most modern cars. The actual assembly is mounted lower down on the bumper, which is designed with a lot of sharp creases and cuts. A similar suite is followed on the bonnet as well.

Moving over to the sides, it gets black cladding for wheel arches. Also, it gets a set of nice-looking diamond-cut alloy wheels. However, it retains the C-pillar mounted door handle, which gives it a 2-door style look. It gets a two-tone colour scheme with black paint for the roof and pillars. This gives it a sportier appeal and also reduces the visual heft.

Talking of the powertrain, next-gen KUV100 Nxt is expected to come with a 1.2L mStallion turbo-petrol engine along with the outgoing G80 1.2L NA petrol motor. The 1.2L naturally aspirated unit is designed to propel a peak power output of 82 PS and max torque of 115 Nm. The mStallion motor, on the other hand, is likely to push out a rated power and torque output of 130 PS and 230 Nm, respectively. The gearbox options on the next-gen KUV100 Nxt will include a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed MT. Even in the next-gen avatar, the KUV100 Nxt is likely to come with 2 seating configurations – 2+3 and 3+3.
