Kia Sonet was launched late in 2020, and it has managed to make it a tough fight for its competitors on the sales tally. The sub-4m compact-SUV is selling in good numbers, and it is one of the top-selling cars in its segment. With a distinctive design, the Sonet looks good from the outside. From the inside, it looks even better. Moreover, it comes loaded with a slew of features. The list includes a lot of segment-first features as well. One of which is the 7-speaker Bose sounds system that comes coupled to a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It is the biggest infotainment display in the segment. However, it is offered in the top-spec trim only. Lower trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen unit that is offered with a 6-speaker Arkamys sound system. But how good is its overall sound output? This unit comes with a smaller 8-sinch touchscreen display that also supports Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. The setup comprises of 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. The tweeters are placed on the A-pillars, while the speakers are mounted on the doors. Talking of the sound output, the host claims that it is crisp and clear. The Sonet is sold in the Indian market with three engine options. The least powerful of the lot is the 1.2L NA petrol that puts out 83 PS against 113 Nm and comes mated to a 5-speed MT only. Next on the list is a 1.5L diesel engine that develops 115 PS of peak power and 250 Nm of max torque. It is available with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The smallest and the most powerful unit on the list is the 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo-petrol unit, which produces 120 PS of peak power and 172 Nm of max torque, and it is available with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
