Kia Seltos is one of the best-selling products of the South-Korean carmaker in the Indian market. The Seltos was the very first product to come out of Kia’s stable in India and is offered in two trim options – Tech Line and GT Line. The variant lineup, however, comprises of seven variants – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX, and GTX+. Prices of the Seltos start from Rs. 9.80 lakh for the entry-level HTE variant and go up to Rs. 17.34 for the top-spec GTX+ trim. By being around Rs. 7 lakh cheaper than the range-topping variant, the HTE trim of the Seltos misses out on a lot of equipment. Interestingly, one can get most of it installed via the aftermarket route. Here’s a YouTube video from the channel of Car Muters that showcases the same.

In the video, the host shows an HTE trim of the Seltos, which is then fitted with a lot of aftermarket and OEM parts. The list includes roof rails, Hypersonic Android-powered touchscreen infotainment system, and aftermarket illuminated reflectors. Moreover, it also gets original headlamps, foglamps, and taillamps of the range-topping HTX+ trim. Furthermore, this Seltos gets a set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that are fitted with Audi hub caps.

While this base-spec Seltos surely looks identical to its top-spec counterpart, these modifications come at an added cost of wiring malfunction. Also, in case the wire is cut or the coupler gets destroyed, the warranty of the vehicle goes for a toss. Thus, it is advised to stay away from such aftermarket modifications.

Talking of the Seltos’s powertrain options, it is available with three engine options – 115 PS 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol, 115 PS 1.5L turbocharged diesel, and 140 PS 1.4L turbo-petrol motor. Transmission options on the Seltos include a 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, IVT, and 7-speed DCT.
