Hyundai Elite i20 is currently available with discounts so heavy that you can buy an Apple iPhone 12 from the money saved.

The Hyundai i20 is all set to hit the showroom floors in its new-gen avatar. With the arrival of the new-gen i20, the outgoing model will be discontinued. The production of the current-gen Elite i20 has already been stopped, while that of the new-gen model commenced a few days back. Also, the first batch of units have started reaching the dealership stockyards. With everything falling in place for the new-gen Elite i20, Hyundai is currently offering massive discounts of up to Rs. 75,000 on the outgoing model. It is equivalent to the price of the latest Apple iPhone 12. The discount comprises of a cash benefit of Rs. 50,000, exchange bonus of Rs. 20,000, and a corporate benefit of Rs. 5,000.

The Elite i20 is currently offered with a 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated Kappa petrol motor only. It puts out a rated power and torque output of 83 PS and 113 Nm, respectively. There are two gearbox options on offer - 5-speed MT and CVT. In the new-gen avatar, the Elite i20 will come with three engine options – 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel. The 1.2L petrol is the same unit as on the outgoing model, but it will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

The 1.0L turbo-petrol engine, however, is the same unit that does duties on the Verna. It develops a peak power output of 120 PS and max torque of 172 Nm. The gearbox options for this engine include a 7-speed DCT, but if it will get the 6-speed MT or 6-speed iMT that remains a question.

The 1.5L oil burner here will be in the same state of tune as in the Venue, thus pushing out 115 PS of peak power and 240 Nm of max torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed MT only. In the new-gen avatar, Hyundai Elite i20 will feature a new design inside-out. Also, the feature list will be longer now, as it will come with an electric sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment unit, Bose sound system, all-digital instrument cluster and more. Once launched, it will continue to rival the likes of Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno, and Honda Jazz.
