The sub-4m compact-SUV was capable of joining the list of top-10 highest-selling cars in the country for the month of October with a sales figure over 11,000 units. Also, the Sonet broke the record of the Seltos by garnering 6,523 bookings on the same day the bookings were opened by the carmaker. As a result, the waiting period for the Sonet is quite high. For some variants, it is over 2 months, while the trims that are available in the shortest duration from the date of booking boasts of a waiting period of at least 4 weeks. Therefore, buying a used one can be a good option.

The twist in the tale, however, is that only a handful of examples have reached the used car market. Moreover, they are available at a slight premium over the actual on-road price of the car. This Kia Sonet is listed with a price tag of Rs. 11.53 lakh. It is the HTX trim of the car that comes loaded with a host of features. It gets electronic sunroof, touchscreen infotainment unit, automatic climate control and more. Powering this example is a 1.0L turbo-petrol motor that puts out a peak power output of 120 PS and max torque of 172 Nm. The transmission duties here are performed by a 6-speed iMT unit which is a clutch-less manual gearbox. Kia Sonet HTX 1.5 Turbo-diesel MT

It is the HTX trim of the car and is powered by the 1.5L oil burner that is good at putting out 100 PS and 240 Nm. This particular example comes coupled to a 6-speed MT. The asking price for this Kia Sonet is Rs. 13.70 lakh which is a premium of around Rs. 1.70 lakh, as the on-road price of Kia Sonet in this configuration in Bangalore, comes up to Rs. 12.10 lakh only.
