Being an Italian car automaker, Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A. was founded on June 24, 1910. The company has been producing racing cars since 1911. The name of the company is a combination of the original name "A.L.F.A" which stands for "Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili" and the last name of Nicola Romeo, who took control of the brand in 1915.
