Tata Harrier is a capable SUV, but sadly it comes in a 2WD layout only. However, here it is showing all the potential it has got by taking over a snowy road with ease.
Tata Harrier is one of the most capable SUVs one can buy in the C-segment space. It comes with a Land-Rover Discovery Sport derived chassis but in a slightly modified form. Capable suspension design for the front axle is from the Discovery Sport as well. The engine, however, is a direct lift from the Jeep Compass. Now, with the BS-6 update, it has got itself a power bump of 30 PS, while initially, it topped out at just 140 PS. The Harrier is offered in an FWD layout, and the AWD is not available even as an option. But to take care of the situations when going gets tough, Harrier comes with Terrain Response Modes, namely Normal, Wet, and Rough.

If by any chance, you thought that what difference would these modes make in an FWD car, see the video above. The video is from Kashmir and in the video, Harrier can be seen taking over a snow-covered road without any hassle, whatsoever. The Terrain Response Modes can be seen doing their duties at the best. The Harrier in the video is the older model, which had a peak power output of just 140 PS. Also, the video is expected to be shot during the shoot of its promotional video.

Since Tata Harrier boasts of a peak power output of 170 PS with the BS-6 compliant engine, we believe it would now be able to tackle such situation with added elegance and grace. With the update, the Harrier also gets the added convenience of a 6-speed AT, which wasn’t available before. Also, Tata Motors has plonked in a set of new features to make it match the shoulders with the competition.
