Here’s a detailed spec comparison between the Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Compass. Both SUVs are compared on the basis of powertrain, dimensions, and features.

The French automaker Citroen is all-set to launch the much-awaited C5 Aircross in the Indian market next month. The SUV will mark the debut of Groupe PSA in India. The automaker has already revealed engine specs and key features of the SUV. It will be launched in our market as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) model. In its segment, it will compete with the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass. Here a small spec-based comparison between the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross and 2021 Jeep Compass.

The all-new Citroen SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 25 to Rs 30 lakh. On the other hand, Jeep Compass is retailed at a starting price of Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 28.29 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end variant. The Citroen C5 Aircross is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel mill, which puts out 174 Bhp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Mechanically, Jeep Compass derives power from a 2.0-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The former develops 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 163 PS and 250 Nm, respectively. The diesel engine can be paired to a 6-speed MT or a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, while petrol mill comes mated to a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DCT. The Citroen C5 Aircross is rated to offer fuel-economy of 18.6kmpl, while the Jeep SUV returns an impressive mileage of 17.1kmpl.

In terms of dimensions, Citroen C5 Aircross is 4,500 mm long, 2,099 mm wide, 1,710 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. On the other hand, Jeep Compass is 4,405 mm long, 1,818 mm wide, 1,640 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,636 mm. Overall, the Citroen C5 Aircross is 95 mm longer, 281 mm wider and 70 mm taller. The wheelbase of the SUV is also 94 mm longer, which will help the Citroen SUV to offer a spacious cabin. The Citroen C5 Aircross comes loaded with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The SUV also gets a 6-speaker audio system, electronic parking brake, steering-mounted controls, traction control, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, hill descent control, two-zone climate control, hill start assist, panoramic sunroof, ESP, park assist function and much more. On the other hand, the Jeep SUV features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with U-Connect 5 and a 10.2-inch instrument console. It also gets a multi-functional steering wheel, hill start assist, ventilated seats, reverse parking camera, wireless charging, ESC and dual-airbags.
