Couple Transforms Hyundai Creta Into Home, Travels Around India After Quitting Jobs

A couple from Kerala customized their Hyundai Creta in just Rs 4,000 to fulfil their dream of travelling. They are now travelling across the country while using their car as a home. Read more about their drive here.

People around India are quite enthusiastic about travelling to different places in their own vehicles. Every year, we see a lot of travellers exploring different parts of India or the world in their car or on a motorcycle. Here’s one such couple from Kerala who transformed their car into their home. This couple from Kerala’s Thrissur, Lakshmi Krishna 23 and Harikrishnan J 31 are living the way what they call a “car life”. They eat, sleep and travel in their refurbished car. They have also started their own YouTube channel, which is called as TinPin stories, and they are accumulating a good amount of followers on daily basis.

Harikrishna was a sales officer in Bengaluru, and Lakshmi completed her internship as a graphic designer. After getting married, the couple decided to quit their jobs and follow their dream of travelling to different places in India. They soon start travelling places and have covered four different states- Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Both couples started living in their car instead of booking hotels. The couple made several alternations in their car to make it compatible with their trips. The Hyundai Creta they use is the first-gen model of the SUV, and they have spent around Rs 4,000 for setting up all the necessary stuff.

They got a single burner stove with the re-fillable cooking cylinder. They fill their water cans from the RO station filters to cook food. The couple has also set up an exhaust fan by using a laptop cooling pad. Moreover, they plug a USB cooling pad into a power bank, which works for 8-10 hours in one full charge. In just Rs 4,000 this couple is fulfilling their dream of travelling. Talking about the Hyundai Creta, last year the carmaker introduced the new-gen model of the SUV with multiple engines and gearbox options. In its segment, it rivals the likes of Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, and Nissan Kicks. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base model and tops out at Rs. 17.53 lakh.
