The all-new BMW M3 has released to mixed reviews, mainly due to its ugly kidney grille that looks ungainly in comparison to the sleek unit of the earlier version
The new grille design of the BMW G80 M3 and M4 have split auto enthusiasts down the middle due to its, erm, questionable design. It has been a huge talking point between fans everywhere and you either love it or hate it. If you’re one of the few who likes the new design direction but can’t afford to buy a new M3, Romanian KITT tuners have got your back as they have developed an aftermarket grille replacement for the F30 3 series that gives it the new model’s huge snout.
This new grille is actually an entirely new bumper with a one-piece design that replicates the new grille design of the G80/82 models. Out goes the F30 3 Series’ grille and bumper and this fits in. It is slightly different from the new BMW M3/M4 as it has cutouts to match the old 3 Series’ headlights, as it would be too expensive to change the headlights whole instead. You also miss out on the bulging bonnets that are a prominent design feature on the new model though at first glance you can notice that the new grille dominates the entire front end which stops you from noticing anything else.
Aside from those few missing design features, though, this new bumper does a nice job of replicating the design of the new BMW M3/4 and you have to appreciate KITT for doing an impressive job to get so close to the new car’s setup. The air intakes look correct, even the vertical ones on the side and the tow-hook cutout is in the right spot. For the most part, this is an accurate interpretation, irrespective of the polarizing styling of the new grille design. As you can see in the picture, this new grille/bumper is still under development, hence its primer gray finish. According to KITT Tuning, this new bumper will be available for customers soon but there’s no launch date. The All-New BMW G80 M3 and G82 M4 were just released this year and ever since its first reveal its new grille design has had strong reactions, in fact, the whole BMW range is actually using this grille as their new design language. What do you think about this new direction?
