Here's the FIRST-EVER CNG-equipped Kia Seltos in India

Kia Motors made its entry to the Indian auto market last year with the Seltos, which has received positive responses from the customers. The South Korean automaker has become one of the best-selling auto brands in the country with two more products: the Kia Carnival and the recently-launched Kia Sonet in its portfolio. With a nearly-1-lakh-unit sales number in just one year, the Kia Seltos has received several modifications with aftermarket accessories. Below is a video which shows a Kia Seltos which has been equipped with a CNG kit, making the SUV become the first Kia Seltos to be powered by CNG in the Indian auto market.

Uploaded on cngMarutiautogas Cng Youtube channel, the video shows a Kia Seltos which has been modified by Maruti AutoGas with the same government-approved CNG kits installed in many other cars in the past. Firstly, the video shows all the elements, wiring and also the gas cylinder which were equipped under the hood. The compact SUV still offers amber boot space even with a cylinder in the rear.

The CNG kit installed in this Kia Seltos is sourced from Zavoli Bora, an Italian brand with one of its distributors all over India being Maruti AutoGas. An S32 sequential CNG kit has been used in this Seltos. Generally, a car with a 4-cyl motor will come with four injectors; nevertheless, this Seltos has come with eight injectors. This helps the lag be reduced and the performance be improved.

This Kia Seltos has been equipped with a Zavoli Bora-sourced 8-injector CNG kit

The installation part is not shown in the video; nevertheless, the final product shows that the modifiers have done a really good mod job. Moreover, the video also does not show the performance of the Kia Seltos after the CNG kit is installed in the car. The kit costs approximately INR 50,000. The 8-injector system can be installed in other vehicles as well, but with a higher price. Noteworthily, an aftermarket CNG will not be entitled to motor warranty. In this case, the factory warranty will be offered.
