The Tata Nexon has been highly appreciated for its robust quality and as expected, the recently launched facelift is no different from its previous iteration in this aspect

Tata Nexon has time and again received accolades for its robust build quality. There have been far too many incidents in which the sub-4-metre SUV has cocooned its occupants during severe crashes. In fact, the Maruti Vitara Brezza-rival has even received a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests, which is something that clearly points out at the high safety standards offered by the Nexon. Earlier this year, Tata Motors rolled out the mid-cycle facelift for its smallest SUV,.

The refreshed model carries a handful of styling changes, a more potent petrol motor and some additional features. Like always, the SUV boasts top-notch build quality, which is something that has been highlighted through the first-ever reported accident of the BS6 Tata Nexon facelift. As seen in the visuals we have here, a Foliage Green Tata Nexon has been rear-ended by a first-gen Maruti Alto 800.

It's said that the cars were travelling at a speed of about 50-60 kmph, when the Nexon's driver panic braked to avoid a frontal collission. Unfortunately, the Alto, which isn't exactly known for great stopping power, just didn't have enough distance to safely come to a half. Also, from the looks of it, the mishap took place in wet conditions, which further made matters tough for the non-ABS braking system of the Alto.

While it's true that the crash isn't too severe in nature, what's interesting to note here is that while the Maruti Alto has sustained some serious damage to the bonnet, fenders ,headlights and bumper, the BS6 Tata Nexon looks totally unaffected. True, a close look reveals some scratches on the bumper but that's about it. Moreover, we're happy to report that the occupants of both the cars are safe.

Tata Nexon is built from high strength steel and has a strong structure. The sub-4-metre SUV even gets a handful of safety features, which, along with the high structural rigidity, have helped the Nexon bag a 5-star crash test rating. The SUV comes equipped with ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control, 2-airbags, front seat belt reminders, high-speed alerts, and rear parking sensors.
