In the Dark Edition rendition, 2021 Tata Safari is finished in the Altas Black paint scheme. Moreover, the chrome studded grille is replaced with a stealthy-looking unit that gets piano-black treatment. Similarly, the piano-black finish can be seen on the headlamp bezels, door handles, window line trim, and roof rail trim. The 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are swapped with a set of black-painted units. Other changes include black skid plates and ‘DARK’ badges on front fenders. On the inside, Dark Edition of 2021 Safari will follow an all-black theme. Like the Harrier, the option of Dark Edition will be available from XT variant onwards.

If Tata Motors plans to launch the Dark Edition of new Safari, it will feature no mechanical changes. It will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 170 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of max torque. It is offered with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. In Safari, this motor comes with three driving modes – City, Eco, and Sport, along with three traction control modes - Normal, Rough, and Wet. Since the 2021 Tata Safari is yet to go on sale, expect the Dark Edition to be introduced by mid-2021. Once launched, the new Safari will rival the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
