Here's How Tata’s Hyundai Creta Rival Could Look Like

Tata is having a fierce eye for the Indian SUV competition as the dazzling Tata’s new SUV lineup for 2020 seem not to come to an end with the introduction of Tata Gravitas or production-spec HBX. What’s even more? The company also promises to launch a proper rival of the Hyundai Creta codenamed Tata Blackbird, which has been flying high around the Internet for a while. While the upcoming C-SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta seems to be in the works, people are wondering if the Blackbird could be stylish enough to hog the limelight of the immensely popular Hyundai Creta.

We have to say that this guy has been so smart and creative to visualize the upcoming Tata car through these attractive set of renderings. That said, none of the rendered versions of Blackbird could look like a real deal like this one.

It is likely that the rendered Blackbird model is created on the idea of Tata’s IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. Apart from that, the digital artist has picked up some certain styling bits from Tata’s latest cars to make the rendered car as attractive as possible. Specifically, the front grille looks like a modified version of the one seen on the B-SUV while the sleek fog lamps are what it seems to be Tata Nexon’s units. By looking closer to the work, we assume that the base car used for this attractive representation of the Blackbird is a Subaru Viziv concept. Looking meticulously at the silhouette of the model will prove the same.

The imminent Tata Blackbird will come to fill in the empty space between the Nexon and Harrier siblings. It is rumoured that the SUV will sit in the same underpinnings of the Chery Tiggo 5x. Still, it will spin off a distinct aesthetic package to build its own identity. To get the same footprints with the Hyundai Creta or Kia Seltos rival, the overall length of the Tata Blackbird could be somewhere under the 4.3-metre mark.

The domestic-grown auto company remains tightlipped about the mechanical package, we expect the upcoming SUV to share the 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol & diesel engines with the Nexon. If the rumours are to be believed, the Tata Blackbird will even feature a mild-hybrid system to improve the fuel economy level, along with a dual-clutch automatic transmission for the petrol model.

In another development, Tata is set to introduce the seven-seater version of Tata Harrier, the Gravitas to the Indian customers later this year. What we know for sure is that following the launch of Tata Gravitas, the production-spec Tata HBX will join the Indian playground this year or the next year, of course depending on the situations.

Earlier on, Tata Motors had announced its plan to subsidize its department of passenger cars, in which Chery might act as a “strategic investor” or even a technology partner. Note that Chery and Jaguar Land Rover have already formed an alliance in China. In a similar fashion, the joint venture between Tata and Chery will aid much in reducing the development costs for the Indian carmaker.
