Hidden Features of Nissan Magnite You Don't Know About - VIDEO

The Nissan Magnite is off to a very promising start in the Indian auto market with over 15,000 bookings since its launch in December 2020. The Japanese automaker launched the compact SUV with an introductory price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh, which is Rs 1 lakh cheaper than all its segment rivals. Though the sub Rs 5-lakh price tag is no more, the rest of the range is still priced the same. For the same price as a Kia Sonet or Hyundai Venue’s base model, you can get a well-specced mid-range Magnite model. This aggressive pricing has put hatchbacks like the Maruti Ignis or Hyundai Grand i10 in aa vulnerable spot as well. We came across this video today that shows two features that may not be known by new customers.

The video has been uploaded by Aditya Narain over on YouTube, in which we can see two minor but very nifty tricks with the Nissan Magnite’s windows. The first feature is the anti-pinch function for the driver’s side window, i.e, when you're rolling up the window if it senses an obstruction it’ll roll down again automatically. The second feature is that even after you’ve taken the key out of the ignition, the Magnite’s windows still keep functioning both ways. Only once after you’ve opened the doors does it lock the window functions. This is very handy if and when you’re waiting for a while and don’t need to keep the car switched on, draining the battery.

In terms of features, The Magnite gets a multi-functional steering wheel, the centre-console gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with in-built Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 7-inch TFT instrument console, and around view monitor display on the screen. It also gets a push-button start/stop system, power windows, automatic AC, rear AC vents, cruise control, etc. The higher models get extra features like a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a rear-seat armrest with 2 cupholders. Nissan is also offering an optional Tech Pack on the top models with even more creature comforts like a wireless charger, high-end speakers from JBL, an air purifier, ambient mood lighting, and puddle lamps.

The new Nissan Magnite is available with two powertrain choices, a 1.0 litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol which makes 81 PS/96 Nm of peak power and torque figures and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. You get the same 1.0 litre 3-cylinder engine but now gets a turbocharger fitted, making figures of 100 PS/160 Nm with the 5-speed manual and 100 PS/152 Nm when paired to the CVT auto.

Prices for the Nissan Magnite range from Rs 5.49 lakh – Rs 9.59 lakh, ex-showroom.
