Honda City hatchback has been unveiled for the Thailand car market. It derives power from a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine.

Honda has finally revealed the all-new City hatchback in the Thai market. In many foreign markets, it will act as the replacement of the Honda Jazz. It is likely to be introduced in many ASEAN countries in the near future. In the Thai market, the car is known as City hatchback and shares several commonalities with its bigger sibling. Upfront, it looks identical to that of the City sedan as it gets the same set of headlamps, grille, fog lamps, bumper and bonnet structure. Only the rear fascia of the car has been redesigned to give it a compact look.

It gets new taillights, bumper, sporty-looking spoiler and so on. It is offered in three different trim levels namely- a 1.0 TURBO S+, 1.0 TURBO SV and 1.0 TURBO RS. Mechanically, the car derives power from a 1.0-litre three-pot turbocharged petrol motor, which puts out 120bhp of peak power and 173 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT or a CVT.

The all-new Honda City hatchback features 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps with LED DRL, LED fog lamps, cruise control, Honda smart key system, automatic A/C and push-button start. Inside, it employs an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, eight-speaker audio, multi-angle parking camera, six airbags, speed sensing auto door lock, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist, paddle shifting function and much more.

Talking about the City sedan, the fifth-gen model of the car is performing quite well, in terms of overall sales. It is among the best-selling cars in its segment. It competes with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris and Maruti Ciaz.  Inside, the new-gen Honda City comes loaded with features like Amazon Alexa remote capability support, an electric sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control and much more. The new-gen Honda City is priced between Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 14.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The previous fourth-gen model of the car is on sale in the market alongside the 2020 model.
